A Potted History Of
The Scottish Newfoundland Club

In 1993 a group of Newfoundland dog lovers felt there was a need to start up a new dog club in Scotland.

For most people, traveling across the Border or down South was too far and too expensive.

The first meeting was held at Strathclyde Country Park where they voted to form THE SCOTTISH NEWFOUNDLAND CLUB.

They wanted to make a local contact point for people to come and share their knowledge of the breed.

What was needed was to have Fun Days and Get-togethers.

We have a good sized Working Group, hold an annual Easter Parade, Water Fun Day, Companion Dog Show, and Christmas Party.

The members have a wealth of knowledge on Health, Showing, Working, Grooming and Breeding, as well as how to survive being owned by a Newfoundland Dog.

Browse our website for more information about The Scottish Newfoundland Club.

If you have any questions, or would like to speak with a member regarding our events, please contact us by email, letter or phone.

At The Scottish Newfoundland Club, the dog comes first.
